I have fifteen+ years of experience in all aspects of fundraising - everything from face-to-face street canvassing, door-to-door acquisition in all seasons for 3+ years in Toronto (including some very cold winters!) to cold-calling donor propects to successful major donor acqusitions. I’ve generated funds in excess of seven figures for major non-profits & arts organizations from simply knocking on doors & making phone calls.

Fundraising Consulting - Free Workshops

If you have an idea - a project in the arts, a community endeavor - something that requires raising funds and don’t know where to start, say hello to me & tell me about the project so I know how to approach you for our first conversation

What you get in a session/consultation + day of working on your behalf.

In the initial consultation, we go over your goals and see what approaches you feel comfortable with in donor acquisition.

You also get a two-to-four hour workshop for one day, where we go over how to do the work in three aspects - making cold-calls/sending emails, setting up fundraising platforms & how to build a donor list from scratch (That’s actually really fun work!)

You also get me working for you for one day of fundraising to show you how to do all this work (so that you’re not just doing it on your own) This way, you get a chance to observe, ask questions & aren’t thrown into the process without help.

Note: If you’re in the Toronto area, we can discuss doing the workhop in person if you believe it will help.

I prefer one-on-one workshops. If I’m working with someone who is disabled I prefer to accomodate their schedule should they have to miss our designated appointment. One-on-one workshops also allow us to focus on a specific project rather than speak in generalities. This way I’m doing a better job for you & I’m not spreading my attention to 20+ individuals.

If you identify as d/Deaf or are a person who is visually impaired I am in the process of learning how to disseminate information to you in a proper, inclusive way. I ask that you reach out to me & if you feel comfortable in sharing any ways to make the process properly inclusive to you, don’t be afraid to be direct & I will accomodate you properly.

Additional Assistance for Trans Folk

Recognizing that trans folk will encounter additional/potential hurdles in their fundraising activities, if I really like your project idea & if you are putting together any kind of structure for long-term development (a permanent fundraising wing or at least seasonal outreach campaigns) you get my labour for free. I’ll spend a week putting together any kind of structure for your project or organization so that at the end of your week, you’re ready to run this long-term campaign on your own. If you encounter any difficulties as your proceed, I’m only a phone call or email away.

Additional Assistance for Creating a Publication

If you are thinking of creating a publication (in an industry where so many incredible people are losing jobs/opportunities) you will also have the one week of labour on your behalf to set you up for your fundraising campaigns. You will be extended the same offer I give to trans folk (& if you’re trans folk creating a publication, well you’ll just be my favourite people for awhile!)
